Mauri Rautiainen writes:

"I am from Inari in northern Finland, about 800 miles north from Helsinki. This is our STOL CH 701 OH-U345, equipped with home made floats. The engine is a Rotax 912S.
"We now have more than 1,000 hr. TT on the airframe, and about 700 h. with the floats.  The plane is used for hauling fish, plane parts, boat parts, bear, beer and more. This is fine combination."

"I purchased a set of plans for my STOL CH 701 on the spot from the good folks at Zenith Aircraft in September 2001 after a ride in their demo. My 701 flew very well the first time. Power is a Subaru EA-81. Performance with this combination is impressive."
Builder Glenn Woolston wrote:

"I built my STOL CH 701 701 in 1 year and 4 months. It was fun."

Paul George, Kingman, Arizona:
"I started on this Zenith STOL 701 project in May of 2003. Construction time was about 5½ months. I kept a log on construction time (and exceeded 500 hours by a few but not many hours). I am happy with the aircraft and it was fun to build. I would recommend it to others. The engine is a Subaru EA81 with a Warp Drive prop."

welsh-1.jpg (28041 bytes) Don Welsh, Clinton, Ontario, Canada:
"I built the wings and other major assemblies in my kitchen and then moved out to the barn where all the pieces slowly but surely turned into C-GZQD. The engine is a Continental A65."
