STOL CH 701 Christopher Desmond and his reptilian STOL CH 701 were prominently featured in General Aviation News magazine (August 4, 2006 issue). Excerpt:

You can tell a lot about the flying habits of a pilot by the kind of aircraft he or she owns. For example, one look at Christopher Desmond's Zenith CH 701 and you would probably surmise that he's a pilot who likes to head for the back country where riverbanks are the runways and the fish normally die of old age.

And you would be correct.

"You can just tell by looking at it that it has great STOL characteristics," said Desmond, who hails from Sebastopol in Northern California. "It's also a very rugged airplane."

Open Hangar Day 2006

Despite poor weather that kept many builders from flying in, Zenith's 15th annual Open Hangar Day on Saturday August 15 was a great success with record attendance.

Many of our photos show aircraft registrations from around the world. In fact, the majority of the hundreds of STOL CH 701 aircraft flying are located outside of North America.

"The Zenith literature package is easily the most complete package I have received from any light aviation company, and I’ve seen many other good ones among the hundreds I have studied. Lots and lots of information is presented with some lovely graphics. The literature alone is impressive, but the volume of information will keep you reading for hours. You can get a good idea of what you're buying without ever leaving your chair."
