Recreational
Flyer, the magazine of the Recreational Aircraft Assoc. of Canada,
March - April 2007 issue, cover story: "Wings for the People:
Chris Heintz' Superb Zodiac"
by Gary Wolf, pages 22 - 29. "The Zenith Zodiac was introduced
in 1984, and 25 years later is still selling strongly... a simple
all-metal plane that provides good performance is perennially appealing to
builders and pilots."

Rick Tedford and his
Zodiac XL (in North Bay, Ontario) was featured in the March - April
2007 issue of Recreational Flyer
magazine. Rick was one of the first builders of the Zodiac XL
model, with the first flight in November 2003, powered by a Jabiru
3300 engine:
"Cruise is
2,750 to 2,900 rpm and indicated airspeed is 120 to 135
mph. The Jabiru 3300 can run all day
at 2900 rpm. The maximum straight and level speed is 155
indicated at 3200 rpm, and this was confirmed last week with a
GPS."
"From an ergonomic
point of view this is the most comfortable
aircraft I have ever flown. There is plenty of storage space...
and the wing [baggage] lockers will hold 40 lbs each..."

J. Ernie Weightman's
Zodiac CH 601 was also featured in the March - April 2007 issue of Recreational
Flyer magazine: "The majority of my flying is in and
out of grass strips and the taildragger configuration has served very
well. The side slip ability of the design, coupled with
seemingly unlimited rudder authority has provided access to some very
limited strips."
